The Summit Highlights My 20/20 Vision for Job Creation
This week we convened more than 500 top regional leaders for the Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit in Oak Ridge, where we talked about how to create the new and better paying jobs of the future for the benefit of every Tennessee community.The success of the Tennessee Valley Corridor has come from the enterprise, enthusiasm and expertise of many folks over the past 14 years. At the Summit, not only were we were able to celebrate the arrival of Volkswagen and Wacker-Chemie coming to the region and the thousands of new jobs they will create, but also the continued success of Oak Ridge and so many other communities in the Corridor.

Now we want to help take this same sort of success to all areas of the state. My 20/20 vision and plan for Tennessee is to launch bold new initiatives so that Tennessee's economy is setting the pace and creating the jobs of the future. With focus and determination, we can move Tennessee from 3rd in auto manufacturing to 1st -- and help our state become the leading energy technology manufacturer in the South.

Creating the right kind of business climate and creating the jobs of the future for our communities and our families is one of the biggest reasons I am running for Governor.
